How to retrieve my first page on Safari

HI and I mistakingly closed to first page on Safari. Now, all that I get is a second page with no ability to go back or forth and no refreshing. I already tried downloading Safari again to no avail. I was wondering if anyone knew how to retrieve my first page? Thank you , in advance for ANY help that you may give.

What do you mean by "first page" -- your home page? Simply press the home button in the toolbar (looks like a house) or choose History, Home. Or press Shift+Command+H.
Or, do you mean the Top Sites page? You can get there by pressing the Top Sites button in the bookmarks bar (looks like 12 squares). Or, you can choose History, Show Top Sites. Or, Option+Command+1.
You can also set new tabs or windows to automatically open either the Home page or the Top Sites page in the Safari Preferences. Look under "General" for "New windows open with" or "New tabs open with".
