I made the switch from POP3 to IMap about week ago, all seems to be running well except one issue. When I am typing an email in apple mail and I mis-spell a word (than correct it) or hit backspace or any other adjustments, I am then sent email(s) to the gmail trash folder in apple mail, they are also sent to trash in gmail. The last email I typed contained 46 errors, that means 92 emails were sent back to me. The contents of these emails are at the exact location (word, sentence, paragraph) were I made these adjustments. Is this normal for imap to due, can you help ?
I hope I explained this problem in a way that`s understandable.

That's very odd. I don't see that same behavior. I'd check through your settings, but I'm not sure what would cause that.
Hello again Gary, I was able to fix the problem described above (Thank You) but I do have another issue. Apple mail no longer requires that I sign in with a password when sending emails (no I`m not signed into gmail).
Before switching to imap, apple mail always required a password before sending emails (again when I was not signed into gmail) so, is this normal with imap or do I have another "setting" issue ?
You shouldn't be prompted to enter a password every time you send email. So it seems to be working normally now. But there are settings in Mail prefs, so look at those if you really want it.
Sorry for the misunderstanding, I did not mean "every time" What I meant was.....
When I open(ed) apple mail and then tried to send an email the app. would than require me to type in my password and now it never requires that info. It`s like the app. mail never really closes. I found the following info under apple mail help, I believe this explains and solves my problem. Thanks again.
Mac OS X 10.2: Keychain Unexpectedly Stores Mail Password
The Keychain application may store your Mail account password even if you tell it not to.
Symptom
Keychain unexpectedly stores your Mail password.
You expect to be prompted for your Mail account password, but aren't.
Solution
You can remove the password using the Keychain Access utility. However, storing the password in the Keychain does not expose it to anyone else. It is not a security issue.
If you edit account information in Mail, the password may be unexpectedly added to the Keychain again.
I would think the normal behavior would be to have the password stored in the keychain and not to have to enter it every time you run Mail. It isn't that it "never really closes" it is just that the password is stored in the keychain and used each time without you having to enter it. Mail is doing the password entry for you.
If you don't want it to do that for you, it sounds like you have the solution to remove it from the Keychain.
when i send a composed e mail, i get a message "you can not send from trash, move to inbox-" why is this occurring?
Not sure. Hard to say without seeing it first hand.
