is it dangerous to leave your 27in iMac screen on all the time? I use my mac with the eyetv 250 as my main TV and the screen is on most of the time.

Dangerous? How so?
If you are using your screen, then use it. Don't be afraid to use it -- didn't you buy your Mac to use it?
Will it not last as long as a Mac that is only on a few hours a day? Sure. But if you are using it, then that's true for any piece of electronics.
