Having watched recent MacMost videos, I have switched to using TextEdit for most of my word processing needs. This is working fine, but there is one minor irritant left. When I open a new file, the default view size is 100% which is too small for me – I always change this to 150%. Is there anyway to tweak Textedit to default to 150%?
Once I have changed it and saved the file, then whenever I open the file it remembers the view size. I know that I could create a template file that has this feature, but I would still like to have a default as I use the service “New TextEdit window containing selection” a lot.

Alan, where are you changing the view size in TextEdit? I don't see any option like that.
Bottom right of the Texedit window where you can increase the zoom to 150, 200 etc.
Ah, I see. That is only there if you turn on "wrap to page." Otherwise you don't see that at all. Interesting.
It looks like the only way to get that to stay is to use the template method you mentioned. You may want to suggest this as a feature to Apple.
Is it possible to make the BookMark Bar text larger? With age creeping up, the BookMark Bar text isn't as large as other text and I'd like to increase the size of the text. Does anyone know if this can be done?
