Hi Gary, please help!: Background info: I have a less than 2 month old Macbook pro 13.3′. This was an upgrade of an Air. I restored all my info from time machine without a problem. I normally shut down it over the weekends and since the very beginning was slower to shut down than the other (Not to mention the iMac at home); But it is getting worst and worst; we are talking over a minute now; when the others take less than 10 seconds. It closes all the applications as fast as the other ones, but get hanged only with the desktop image, without the upper menu or anything else. Any pice of advice please? Many thanks in advance

Could be lots of things. Could be shutting down network connections, shared drives, MobileMe or Some other connection, etc. Try ejecting all drives and shared things before shut down to see if that speeds it up. Try removing and USB devices. Try running activity monitor just before you shut down to see if there is any background process you can quit. There are lots of little bits of software that could be taking some extra time to gracfully shut down. Trial and error is the only way to figure it out.
But all in all, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Many thanks. Its only that you get used so easy to the excellence that it became difficult to accept less; even though is not really bad. Regards
