I have a setup of an external monitor with my 13′ macbook pro. I recently got my hands on an additional third monitor that was almost free. I was wondering if it was possible to hook up two external monitors at the same time and what the best method for doing this is. Thank you.

3rd External Monitor

Not easily. You don't have an expansion slot in that model of MacBook Pro. So USB would be the only way to expand to a third monitor. You'd need to buy a USB device that would add an additional video port. Since USB wasn't built to handle video, it won't be as fast as your other screens, and may cause trouble. I've seen a few add-a-monitor-through-USB devices, but have never tried one myself.
It might all be more trouble and expense than it is worth unless you have a pressing need to have three screens.
What about the 17' macbook pro? My friend has one, and he also has two external monitors.
The 17-inch MacBook pro has an ExpressCard/34 slot. You can get a video card that goes into that and add a third monitor. He could be using that, or a USB solution. Ask him.
