A Refurbished Apple TV

Hi Gary,

I am familiar with Apple TV and have synced my MacBook with my friend’s and had great success viewing iTunes purchased materials and ripped movies.

My question is should I have any hesitation buying a refurbished Apple TV from Apple? I have a Apple gift card burning a hole in my pocket and I want to make a purchase. Will I be able to use it in combination with my DVR (meaning transferring recorded shows from the DVR to the Apple TV)?

Thanks again for your sage advice!

Apple sells refurbished equipment with a warranty. And supposedly it is as “good as new” — but you do get it at a discount and you know the saying “you get what you pay for.” You are buying something used and refurbished. So it is up to you whether that is worth the savings.
You can’t use it with a DVR, no. Read up on Apple’s site about what Apple TV does so you understand what you are buying.
