Forum Question: Anti-Virus for VM Fusion

Gary says, and I believe, you don’t need AV for OS X. But what if you’re running a Windows app in VMFusionware on your Mac. In short, a virtual Windows machine. Thoughts?

I have Comcast as an ISP and they offer Norton and McAfee as freebies.

If you are using the virtual Windows partition on a regular basis and as an important part of your business or life, then yes, definitely. I don’t, as I just use my Boot Camp/Parallels partition for testing. I don’t have any data there, nor do I install any applications beyond the default. And I rarely use it. If I did get a virus, I would simply wipe and re-install Windows on the partition.
