Any cons to File Vault-2

I think I know the pros of File Vault-2. However are there any cons. Also can you encrypt USB hard drive back-up without using
File Vault?

    The big "con" would be that if you forget your password, you are out of luck.
    I assume by "File Vault-2" you mean the File Vault in Lion, correct? If so, then the "con" of being slower is a small one, as it is not really that much slower.
    Another con is that I don't think you can create a guest account if you use File Vault.
