I’m tryi g to stream atoutube video from my iPhone. The options I get are iPhone, apple tv and apple tv 2 !
Sonetimes I donot get the apple tv 2 option. On clucking apple tv only, just the audio plays but on clicking apple tv 2, the video plays on my tv. But if the option of apple tv 2 doesn’t show up, what do I need to do?

I believe that is right. The Apple TV 1 has old AirPlay (audio only) and the Apple TV 2 has new AirPlay (audio or video). I haven't tested with my old Apple TV 1, though. Make sure it has all software updated. If you Apple TV 1 is up-to-date and you only get audio, then that's just what the old one is capable of.
As for why your Apple TV 2 only shows up some of the time, I would imagine it is because it isn't accessible at that moment. Maybe asleep or not connected to the network?
