AppleTV – 1st Generation, Syncing Between Apple TV & iTunes

I recently downloaded some TV shows on my AppleTV directly. However, they are not showing up on my iMAC iTunes. How do I make sure they show up on both?
In itunes, I went to File/Transfer Purchase from AppleTV but got error message “Check that any firewall software running on this computer has been set to allow communication on port 3689”
I want the videos to be on both iMac and AppleTv

Are these videos you have purchased, or rented?
If rented, then they will only ever appear on the device that you rented them from.
If purchased, then you should be able to do it, as you tried. Not sure why you have been getting that message. I would check the settings on your Mac and also on your wifi router.
Otherwise, did you check to see if the shows show up as purchased items in iTunes? Then you can just download them again, directly to your Mac.

I purchased a music video, and it was live. I was communicating to an Apple rep. I paid by debit card, and i was just waiting for the card details to be finalised. They were, and the Music Video appeared in iTunes. I no little about this, and the Apple rep said are you sure you want to do this, and i said yes. But computers being what they are, ISP supply you with the router, and they have got settings. I had to get my router renewed like Pat said about the port errors. I can understand what Pat means. Thats why they gave me a new router.
