Automount an Airdisk

I am using 10.6.2 and I am trying to figure out how to get an HD plugged into an Airport Extreme to automount, and can’t seem to find it. Suggestions?

A solution depends on why you want it to "automount." For instance, if you just want quick access to the drive, then create an alias to it and stick it on your Desktop. Then just open it when you need it. If it hasn't been mounted yet then it will mount itself and open. If it has already been mounted then it will just open.

I think that would work. Really I am trying to make this drive easily accessible for my wife to find data on, and so automounting seems a logical thing. Can you stick an alias in the Finder bar?

Yes. You can Option+Command and drag to the "Places" area in the left sidebar. You can also place an area in the Dock too. Lots of options.
