Can I Screen Share Via Messages App Between a Mac and a PC?

I presently use GoToMyPC to screen share between my Mac and a remote PC which has GoToMyPC installed. I would like to be able to do the same thing between my Mac and a remote PC which does not have GoToMyPC installed using the Screen Share via Messages App feature. Is it possible?

No, and yes. So, forget about the Messages app. There is no Windows version of that. But you don't need it. The screen sharing function in the Messages app is just a shortcut to the Mac screen sharing function.
That Mac screen sharing function is compatible with VNC (Virtual Network Computing) function on any computer that supports it. You can get VNC software for Windows. Search for it. I don't have a recommendation. I used something a long time ago to test this out, but I can't remember its name.
Once you install the VNC software on Windows, you can connect from a Mac using vnc://IPADDRESS given the ip address of the Windows computer.
It gets much more complex than that as your Windows computer needs its own IP address or your router needs to know to forward that port to the Windows computer.
I'm not sure of your experience level, so it is hard to give you more advice. That is why apps like GoToMyPC are so popular -- because they make it easy for people who don't know how to configure VNC and port forwarding, etc.
