I am selling my MacBook Pro and then buying a newer one. It originally had Snow Leopard on it, but I bought Lion through the App Store. Can I give them the license for Lion since I will already be buying a new MacBook Pro with Lion pre-installed? If I can, how do I transfer the license to them so it doesn’t tie it into my iTunes/App Store account?

What I would do is to use your original discs (or Snow Leopard discs) and re-install Snow Leopard. A nice clean install, erasing the hard drive. Then let them spend the $30 to buy Lion. That way it is all registered and set up for them and they have no problems in the future. And you don't have to worry about leaving anything behind.
I'm sure there is no way to transfer a license to someone else like that. And it is only $30.
Technically this the same problem with all of the app store software, and when you get to several hundred dollars… not being able to resell or transfer ownership is not a good solution for end users.
Yes i disagree about this method. To me it`s your`s and you should be able to do what you want with it. I have the same problem with Photoshop SC5 Extended. I phoned them up and they said it`s alright you have an account with us. I look at it this way if you bought a TV you can sell it without the licence. Then you can buy a new TV,but you have to buy a new licence with it.
