Can’t login to one user account.

Hi,

Wonderful podcast. Thanks.

I have several user accounts on my Snow Leopoard iMac. I login to them all from time to time, some more than others.

One of the ones I use rarely has stopped working.

Faced with the multiple user login box, if I choose the bad one, the machine goes blue as if it’s logging in, but a few seconds later it’s back to the login box, with no error message anywhere.

Sounds like maybe the home directory for that account is gone, or corrupt, or missing some files. If the account isn't important, I would just delete it.. Otherwise, use an admin account and see if you can re-assign a password or change other properties of the account.

Yep, it's hosed somehow. I can SSH to it with no problem, so it's a subtle corruption. Changing password and the admin property didn't work either. I guess deleting it is my only option. Very fortunately it has no data to have to backup.
