Change email addy in FaceTime

I’ve loaded FaceTime on two different MacBook Pros and they initially have the same email addresses for the “number” to call. I want to change one of the addresses to my wife’s email but the FaceTime program won’t allow me to erase the initial email addy. The “Remove This Email” is grayed out.
I’ve tried everything I can think of to remove it but to no avail. Any thoughts what I can do to remove and replace with another email addy?

    Try adding a new email address first using the "Add Another Email" button first. I don't think you can remove an address until you add a new one.
