Clean Install

Getting “beach balling” think bad install to 10.6.3 did it, so I want to do a clean install. Have Mac Pro with a separate dedicated HDD with my data. Also have MobileMe. What’s the best way to do this? Don’t need to do an archive and install since system and apps on a separate HDD. So far I’ve exported latest iCal, Address Book, Safari bookmarks to my data HDD. Anything else I should do? I know it will be a bit of a hassle to set up my preferences again.

I will use 10.6.0 disc, then download 10.6.3 combo from Apple Support site and run that disk image installer. It will know what hardware I have, correct? Best way to clean install?

You sound like you have a good plan. If it was me, I'd do a full backup clone using Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper! -- that way you have a way to fix things if something goes wrong or you forget something.
