Desktop Icons Keep Getting Rearranged

Grrr, is there a way to stop Lion from always moving my desktop icons? I want to keep them arranged my way. Thanks for any help.

You can place your desktop icons anywhere you want. But there are some options, that perhaps you have turned on, that will automatically arrange them. Perhaps this is what you are experiencing?
Select the desktop (make sure it is the desktop selected, and not some Finder window -- click on the desktop background). Then go to the View menu. Look at the Sort By menu and make sure it is set to "None."

I have mine set to none, but when i am dragging say pictures out of a window one disappears. I looked all over the screen, but i could not see it,and i thought it`s me i have miscounted. Then when i was more or less doing the same thing i was watching very carefully when they came on the desktop. A picture flew right up into the top left hand corner of the screen. You could just say see it,and when i tried to get it out the Apple Menu kept dropping down. I managed to get it out,but it still happens now and again. I have looked through the option`s like you said, but it is still happening Gary.

So this is not happening all of the time, just some of the time? You said "always" in the original question.
Can you isolate when it happens -- like when dragging from a certain app to the desktop? Does it happen when you move items around on the desktop?
If it happens only from a certain app, then it may be that the app needs to create a file (like dragging an image selection from a graphics tool) -- and in creating it the app may ignore the specific location on the desktop that you drag it to when it creates the file. Depends on the app then.

No i said it still happens now and again. Yes i can only isolate it when i am dragging photos from the Pictures folder onto the desktop, and visa versa. This computer is doing weird things the blue line under the words i have found out i have a faulty Space Bar. Could it be the Keyboard, when you have your finger on the space bar all the time it stutter`s along. It does not flow along. It could also be me with not being used to Mountain Lion. In this new version they have left out the number of items you have in the window at the bottom,or is there some way you can turn it on. You solved the problem with Preview "Save Has"now i am having troy

When looking at a Finder window, choose View, Show Status Bar.

Do you mean by a Finder Window, a Window with my pictures, music, ect...in it.
I have opened a Window, and right clicked, but there is no View. I have clicked on the desktop, and there is no View there. I have also looked under the Finder Preferences,no view there. What is the Status Bar? It`s that simple what you have told me,and i know what you mean when i get off the internet, but this one has me stumped. I will try again Gary.

Yes i found it,and it showed the Status Bar at the bottom of the Window.
It just said "No Items" It was an empty window has it got to have some items in it Gary.

It`s just did it again. I downloaded about 50 pictures, and i was dragging them out of the downloads folder.
About 8 pictures flew up to the top left hand corner of the screen.
    I hav`t a clue whats causing this.
