I’ve tried dragging the name from contacts to the group I’ve set up, and it looks like it’s working, but when I open the group in mail, the name isn’t there. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Gary

That should work, but let me make sure we are trying it the same way.
I open the Contacts app on my Mac. Then I find a group I created with 3 members. I drag a new contact from the middle column to the group on the left. I check the group and it now has 4 members, including the one I just added.
Then I go to the Mail app on that same Mac. I create a NEW message and in the To field I enter the name of the group. I see all four email addresses appear.
Is that what you are doing?
My name is listed in the group in Contacts, but when I click on the group to send an email in Mail, the name is not among the others. Strange.
Gary, I just noticed the "mail" icon is not lit up in the group contact list under the person's name in contacts. How do I change that? Thanks so much.
Cheryl: Ah, that may explain it. It means that the contact has no email address assigned. Try editing the contact to add one. If you already have one there, maybe you added it in a field not usually used for email -- like a note, phone number or physical address.
I got it!!! I resubmitted the email address in contacts and that seems to have solved the problem. Thanks for your help :)))
