How Do I Attach a Photo To Mail?

When I want to attach a photo to an email sent from Mail, I click on the attach file icon (paperclip) which takes me to Finder. In the sidebar when I open Finder under Favourites is Pictures. When I click on the icon it opens to show Photo Booth and Photo Library. If I click on Photo Library it doesn’t open, it just loads the entire Library into the email.

I am doing this so I can attach a photo or inked it into an email

That's just showing you the contents of your Pictures folder. It sounds like you want to choose a photo from your Photos library, not a file.

After clicking on the Attach File paperclip icon, in the left sidebar, go down further. Look for the "Media" section and then Photos under that. Select that to view photos in your Photos library.

You can also just drag and drop from Photos. You can also select a photo in the Photos app and copy, then paste into the email message.
