I am unable to get Mac mail to work on my Samsung pad. I have copied name, password, imap, all the details I can find to match what works on my iPhone and Mac desktop without any success. What is the key I am missing?

So by .Mac account, I assume you mean an iCloud account? Must be, as both .Mac and its successor, MobileMe, are now iCloud.
So for an iCloud account, you need to set up an IMAP account (like it seems you have done). But getting all the details right is critical.
See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864 for some info like the exact server names.
Make sure you enter your username with @me.com. So if your email address is example@icloud.com, then use "example@me.com" as your IMAP use ID.
Thank you. I have been successful with one cloud account. I am actually responding from the Galaxy Tab.
The second account still has me.
I am copying all from the mail preferences account window on the mac. One variation I see is that the imap.mail.me.com is preceded with p01-
I tried that with the imap line. I tried with the prefix line. I am totally baffled.
Mate why not trade it in and get an ipad, you have mac .I had pc for a couple of years, my son convinced me to go mac it has been the best decision i have ever made

You have to go to the Samsung site,and download Kies for Mac.The products that are covered by this are Samsung Galaxy S 2,S3, Samsung Galaxy Note,and Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Plus they are releasing the Kies for other Mac products.
Has Gary says you have to have exact sever names,and other important details.
The Samsung guy said we are working to get all the devices connected eventually.
Samsung have just released a new Kies for Mac. They are Galaxy Ace Plus,Galaxy Tab, Galaxy Wave, Galaxy Wave II,and Galaxy Ace.
I havn`t a clue what you are trying to do Walt,because i am not technically minded.
The Samsung agent said it does not matter if you have a Mac(Limitations)or a PC you have to download Kies for the both of them to work.
