How Do I Covert a Table To Text In Pages?

I’ve copied a table (2 columns, 8 rows) from numbers to Pages and would like to change the table to text (loose the table format).

I want to be able to use the formatting (columns, sections, page breaks) options offered by pages to format the data.

Open a new TextEdit document. Make sure you are in Text mode, not Rich Text mode by checking for Format, Make Rich Text. If it says "Make Plain Text" then select that to go into plain text mode.

Then paste the table into there. It will force it isn't non-styled plain text with tabs between columns and line breaks between rows.

Then select that and copy it, paste it into Pages.
