Forum Question: How Do I Prep a First-gen iPad for Giveaway?

We have two first-generation iPads which work fine. We’re looking to move up to the iPad3 as soon as possible and want to donate our old ones to a family with financial troubles. Can you list the steps we should take to prepare the iPads for donation, or point out what you consider a reliable source for this information? Thanks.

You can prep any iOS device for resale pretty easily. Just go to Settings, General, Reset and choose “Erase All Content and Settings.” This securely erases everything on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad and leaves just the bare bones system and default apps.
It even overwrites memory so there is no security issue.
