How Do I Remove the Wallet App?

I don’t want the Wallet app on my iPhone 6 Plus, latest iOS. Apple doesn’t seem to want me to. Is that possible? Thanks, Gary.

What is your problem with the Wallet app? It serves several useful purposes. Even if you don’t want to use Apple Pay, it is very useful for storing tickets to things. For instance, you buy an online movie or concert ticket. If you get to the door of the theater and try to use the ticket app or access your email to show the ticket, but there is no Internet service available, then you may be out of luck. But if you stored the ticket in your wallet, then you can always bring it up even if you are on Airplane mode. For this reason alone, it is critical to me. It works for most airplane tickets too. Very useful.

The other main use for the Wallet app is to select a payment option for Apple Pay. But if you don’t add a payment option, then you just won’t see that there.

You can also use it to store some rewards cards. So instead of packing dozens of store rewards cards with you every time, so you have it with you if you need something and go to a store when you are out, they are always with you on your phone. Weight = zero.

If you still want to get rid of your Wallet app for some reason, there is no way to do it. It is a part of iOS. But like with any app you can always move it to the last Home screen to get it out of the way, or tuck it into an app folder so you don’t have to see it.
