I know you prefer paperless, but can you offer any guidance for buying a small laser printer for home use? Your help is sincerely appreciated.

How Do I Select a Good Laser Printer?

I can only comment on the one that I have, which is the HP LaserJet 100 color MFP m175nw. I don't do much printing on it, but the occasional photo or sign or hardcopy of some important notes for a trip. Seems to be a workhorse. Has never given me a bit of trouble. I've used it as a flatbed scanner too a few times.
I think I got it 8 years ago and I'm only on my second toner cartridge set. My only complaint is that it told me that I needed to change toner but I actually went 2 whole years (only maybe 200 printed pages) before finally changing. So maybe it encourages you to change too soon.
I know that model isn't for sale anymore, but it looks like there are a few successors in that series.
If you don't need to print in color, a monochrome laser printer is probably the way to go. Just on cartridge and much smaller.
You are an invaluable source of information. Thanks for sharing your personal experience.
