How Do I Sync Only a Group (aka Playlist) Of Audiobooks To My iPhone?

Just upgraded to Catalina and now cannot sync just my “Unread audiobook” playlist to my iPhone. I have hundreds of books and scrolling through all of them to select the books I want is ridiculous. Is there a solution out there please? I have put them in a category but the sync function does not show categories.

If you are not using iCloud for this, then the only options right now are to check which audiobooks you want to read in the sync settings in the Finder. So if you have 10 unread audiobooks, then check those and sync. The next time you sync, you may uncheck one (you read it) and check another (new book you just added and haven't read).

If you use iCloud for Books, then you'll simply see all of your audiobooks on your iPhone. It won't download them (as long as you are using the "Optimize" feature on your iPhone, until you request it. But it will also sync playlists, so you will see your Unread playlist and any other you create. No syncing required, it just all happens through iCloud.

Not really very useful when I am on a plane and want to read an audio book that is in the cloud, which is why I need them on my phone. I hope Apple get's their act together and gives us much better functionality in iBooks as at the moment it is unusable. I am going to have to find another app.

Julie: You just download the book via iCloud before you go on a trip. It is the same as syncing via cable in this respect -- you get it on your device before you travel. Try it.
