Can I share an album of photos using my iPhone or iPad in a similar way I have created a url on my MacBook? Does that feature exist on the iPhone photo app?

Yes. For instance, tap Albums at the bottom of the Photos app. Then tap the + button at the top left corner. You can create a regular Album or a Shared Album. If you select Shared, then you can give it a name and choose who to share it with. Once you create it, you can go into it and use the People button to share it with more people, or to make it public. You can use the Edit button to add or remove photos.
If you don't see the Shared Album option, make sure you haven't turned it off. Look for the setting in the Settings app, Photos.
