How does google know?

If I’m using “Private” mode in Safari how is it that “Youtube” can make recommendations based on the websites I just visited?
That doesn’t seem very “Private” to me.

Are you logged into Google? That is one way.
Another is cookies. Private browsing doesn't affect those.
Another is that YouTube simply sees your IP address and knows that you visited one site, and then are on to the next.
Private Browsing is a feature in Safari that stops Safari from storing information locally. For instance, your browsing history will not be stored. The idea is that you can do this at a public computer and the next person to sit down won't know what you have been doing.

    Hi Gary,

I'm wondering if there's a way to password protect a document in Pages. I want to create a document that can only be accessed by me. I don't want to password protect the entire computer when logging in.
    Thanks,
    Vicky
