I have many CDs on which I recorded iDVD projects for viewing. The media format is all but obsolete but the only access I have to these old “movies” are stored on the CDs. I have VLC which allows me to convert them to play them on my iMac but I would like to be able to convert the files to a format for playing on my AppleTV.
How can I accomplish this within the Catalina universe?

So you basically want to take the video from these DVDs and convert them back into computer files, right?
You should be able to use Handbrake to do that. I have a very old video on it, and I’m sure things look different, but the basic idea is the same.

Another option is to get an app from the Mac App Store. Search for “rip DVD” and several come up.
