How To Show Shortly Title and Artist With Mouse Over iTunes Icon?

When a new song starts or ad hoc I often miss information about the song now being played. Is there a solution or add on to simplify this process so that I don’t have to switch to the iTunes window?

I can think of two options for you. One is to Control+Click or secondary click (right mouse button or two fingers on a trackpad, etc) on the iTunes icon in the Dock. This shows the song and artist currently playing.
The other is to switch to the mini player. That is, press the green + button on top of the iTunes window. As a bonus, you can go into iTunes, Preferences, Advanced and set it so this mini player appears on top of all other windows. This way you never lose it.
If the mini player doesn't show the artist and song, click and drga its right side over to make it a little larger and it will.

Thanks, Gary. There is no Mouse Over solution with no 'click' to your knowledge?

Not that I can think of. But the mini player solution doesn't require a mouse over nor a click.
