Now that the iPad 2 user guides are out, where can I get guide for the original iPad. ATT had them for $200. off and i could not resist after waiting in line several times to get an iPad2.

Do you mean you want a book on how to use the iPad 2? You can get my iPad 1 book from Amazon still.
But, consider this: You have an iPad 1, but you are using the new iOS 4.X on it, not the old 3.2 that was available with the original iPad 1. So I would get an iPad 2 book instead of an iPad 1 book. Just ignore the parts on using the cameras.

I have an Ipad 1 which I use all the time & very satisfied with
until recently I am finding I cannot upload certain apps because
it says I need IOS.5. to be able to use it.
My husband insists I should update the Ipad to IOS.5 but i do not think
it is possible to update it, is it ?
What do you suggest please?

It is absolutely possible to update to iOS 5. You should do that. It is always a good idea to keep your devices up-to-date for a number of reasons.
Just plug it into your Mac or PC like you would to sync/backup (you do sync and backup, right -- always need to backup). Then in iTunes it should prompt you to update to the new version of iOS.
