I'm not sure. I've never investigated this. I haven't heard that the iPad 2 is any different than the iPad 1 in this respect. But I just don't know.
I was wonderring because this time for the ipad 2 they have specifically given WIfi +3g Prices with the 2 providers of Verizon and At&t mentioned on their site !
so was wondering if 3G is only available with them !
You can only get the 3G Verizon iPad 2 from Verizon. You can only get the 3G AT&T iPad 2 from AT&T. But from the Apple Store you can get wifi, Verizon and AT&T models.
I did brought an Ipad 2 from the black friday sale , I didn'nt open the box yet cuz I heard that the Ipad 2 may not be ready to be used out of the AT&T network. If that't is the case I'm going to return it to the store . Cuz I was planing to use it overseas, So my question is : Is the Ipad 2 locked on AT&T or not ? . Please help before I return it .
Thnks
I don't believe that any iPads are locked to any specific carrier. The AT&T version should use GSM and the Verizon version should use CDMA. That should be the only difference. But I have never tried to use an AT&T iPad with another carrier. Perhaps call the carrier you plan to use overseas and ask them.
