I just ordered Gary’s My Ipad 2 from Amazon so I can deal with questions about my wife’s new iPad 2 such as the following …
The problem right now is that the on-screen keyboard fails to appear. After a reboot it appears, but later may not appear. She is using the neat little blue tooth external keyboard too. Could there be some sort of conflict?

I'm sure that's what is causing it. The on-screen keyboard will not appear if a bluetooth keyboard is connected. You don't want both, after all. So make sure the bluetooth keyboard is disconnected.
Oh, and also, with the Mac bluetooth keyboard the Eject key will let you switch to the on-screen keyboard. Not sure if you have that one or something else.
I used a Logetech external keyboard on my ipad2 and when I removed it the onscreen keyboard stopped working. What do I do to restore it. thanks, donna
