Is It Better To Store Pages Docs In the Pages Folder?

Hi Gary is it better to store pages, numbers and keynote files in the pages, numbers, keynote’s own app folders than to store them in different folders (your own) or the document folder? Or is it just a matter of preference?

No. It is just a matter of preference.

Those folders started out in the early days of iCloud, before iCloud Drive. They were the only place you could store the files of the respective types on iOS. For instance, Pages could "see" the files in the Pages folder and there wasn't anywhere else it could look.

Today, they are just convenient places for those apps to store their files if the user doesn't know where else to put them. And in some cases people like storing files by type, so it makes sense to store their files in there.

I prefer to store my files in folders in my Documents folder, according to projects.
