Is It Safe To Close a Tab In Safari Without Signing Out Of the Site?

Im constantly trying to trim keystrokes to become more efficient. Lets say you are logged into your banking site and close that tab without sighing out from the bank. Is this not secure in anyway?

It would be insecure if you were using another person’s Mac, or a public Mac. Or if you were using a Mac that other people could get physical access to if you were to walk away with it unlocked. I suppose it would also be a problem if you didn’t have a password set on the Mac at all, but then everything is a problem.

Otherwise, it is fine if this is your Mac, in your private space, and you have the usual account security (password) set up. A bank site would automatically log you out in a few minutes anyway.

I don’t see a problem with it, and I do it that way. No one can physically or remotely access my Mac besides me.

“Trim keystrokes to become more efficient”? More efficient than what? It takes at most 5 seconds to navigate to the top of your bank’s webpage and click “Log out” (one short scroll and one click). Log in, do your business, and log out. Err on the side of caution.
