How can I disable “Mission Control” from loading at startup and thus not appearing in the Dock?

Mission control is an integral part of the Finder. But if you don't want it, then just don't' use it. You can drag the icon out of the Dock if you don't want it there. You can disable the gestures and keyboard shortcuts too in System Preferences if you like.
