Locating Downloads

how to locate recent downloads. New to mac and find it very confusing

    I have just lost the folder for down loads. I have made a new folder with down loads on it,but after a couple of minutes it turns into a question mark.
    Can you please help. Gary

      Lost the folder? Do you mean you deleted it?
      It would be in your user folder, named "Downloads."
