Mac Drop Box & Windows

Hi Gary,
I have now got my 21.5″ iMac i3 But I have been trying the Mac Drop Box out & on Windows I can create, open & edit a txt file in the ~/Users/Hugh/Public/Drop Box, I thought I could only create not edit & open files in the Drop Box? Do I have the settings set up wrong?

Thanks & your book was a god send!

Well, you can set the drop box to any set of permissions you want. By default, it should be write only, no read. But did you change that? Just select the Drop Box folder and get info on it to see the Sharing & Permissions. "staff" and "everyone" should be set to Write Only.
The other possibility is that you are logging on to the Mac as yourself -- the admin user. If that is the case, you can do everything you would be able to do while logged in on your Mac.
