MacFuse-NTFS in OS X Lion

I recently tried to mount a USB flash disk which is formatted in NTFS & I got an error message saying among others that MacFuse is unavailable. I had already installed MacFuse-NTFS 3G on my iMac & it worked fine until now. I think this was the first time I tried to use a NTFS flash disk since I updated to Lion.
Could this be the reason for MacFuse-NTFS 3G not working any more?

    If you search for "MacFuse NTFS Lion" you come up with a lot. I've never used it myself, but apparently that is old software and it no longer works properly if you have Lion. Check out these links:
