Migration results iffy

Just finished using Migration Assistant to move my files from an old Macbook Pro to a new one. I found what seem to be all my applications, but some that I’ve tried act brand new. For example, I had Firefox all decked out with 1Password and Speed Dial on my old computer, and Firefox now offers none of my bookmarks and no hint of 1Password or Speed Dial, just a clean greeting screen. iTunes doesn’t show me my music or podcasts. Any idea on what I did wrong? Do I have to do a lot more manually? Thanks.

Many programs require that you re-install them yourself or that you at least register the software after migration. After all, you purchased a license for one Mac and now it is running on another. When you have some very integrated like 1password you will need to install it again (takes a minute or two) since a simple file copy isn't enough. That par for the course. Adobe software would be the same way, I believe.
As for iTunes, though, it should all copy over. Did you have you music on another drive or something? Anything unusual about your itunes setup?

That makes sense. Before I do those things, though, would migrating from a Time Machine backup or restoring from a Super Duper backup of my old machine be worth a shot at making things more like they were? Thanks.

Depends on how much time you have. If you have plenty of time to try things out, then go for it. If you need to get up and running and back to work, then take the surest route.
