Is it safe to move the iChat and the Microsoft User Data directory (I have Office for Mac installed) to another folder inside my user directory?
I’m trying to tidy things up a bit and the flat directory I have is getting a bit unwieldy.

Depends on what you mean by safe. I don't know if either application will know where to find its data if you move the files. But you can always try. Just move them back if it doesn't work.
