Sounds like you've got some serious issues. I'd re-install the OS. Or, it might be a good time for an upgrade to Leopard or Snow Leopard (if you have an Intel Mac).

OK I will try that. I hope it works. If not I have a Power Mac G5, I believe it a 10.4. What Leopard can i get?

A Power Mac G5 can go up to Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5) but only Intel Macs can get Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6).

So I took my computer to a apple store and they could not get anything going. They also tried to install Mac 10.5 but the guy told me it will not install. He also told me that it could be a hardware problem and it will cause a lot to fix i might as well buy another one. He said I can take it to a third party that works on apple computers. So tell me if the apple experts can not fix my computer then who can. What really make me mad is that i have an IMac that is 2 years older then the Power Mac tower and it is still working. He said they will not be able to do anything with it cause it is too old. I got it in 2006. So are you telling me that apple computers are only good for 5 years. Is there anybody else I can talk to about my problems.

Macs are just like any other piece of hardware: a PC, stereo, car, etc. Lifetime vary. They have lots of parts. I've got Macs that are 10+ years old that work fine. I would do what the Apple tech suggested. Take it to a Mac repair shop near you and have them check it out. Maybe it is ask simple as some bad memory that can easily be replaced or something like that.
