After installing OSX Lion my QuickTime will not play the same codex it used too. I have re-installed DIVX and VLC. Now it says I must buy a codex (flip4mac) for $20. Sure glad I paid $30 for this experience.
Anyone have a fix?

Flip4Mac is a very common extension for QuickTime that allows you to play some Windows video formats.
But it is free, not $20.
You probably went to the site and saw that they have a $20 version that allows you to encode video. You don't need that one. You need the free version.

Uninstall DIVX and download Perdian.
I tried that Flip4Mac ages ago, but it was causing all sorts of problems so i got rid of it. I use the Realplayer and downloader the free version, and i find it really good. I can see what the problem was now. Realplayer takes over your computer like Flip4Mac. Realplayer can download your tutorials, and YouTube, but it also downloads advertisements, and just about everything that moves when you are on the internet.
