I added a “Send Mail” button to Safari (via Customize Toolbar). When I click it, it tells me I need to install Mail.app … even though it is installed and works fine. The “send mail” feature in the services menu is working fine, though.
Any ideas?

Run Mail and check in your Mail Preferences, General, for the default mail application setting.
