Should Any Pages File Automatically Show In iCloud?

Gary – if I start a Pages file on my Mac, should it automatiCally appear in iCloud? Or is there something else I need to do? Or is this not the way it works? Thanks, Jim C

That's not the way it works.
Right now, iCloud document sharing really only works between iOS devices. The documents are backed up, in a way, to your Mac, but they are not easily available.
The way you are supposed to do it is to use the iCloud.com web interface to upload or download iCloud documents to your Mac.
One reason for this is that Pages, Numbers and Keynote are different between Macs and iOS. So it would be easy to create a document on one platform and then have features that are not compatible on the other. Maybe Apple is working on this and we just need to wait for more updates.
You also have the option of using iWork.com to transfer documents back and forth, but that doesn't work perfectly seamlessly either because of the different in app features.
