Should I Switch From Mobile Me To iCloud?

I like the idea of iCloud but I’m not sure if I should switch now or wait until my subscription is up in Jun 2012. Will I lose the 20GB of Mobile Me storage if I switch to iCloud now?

No, you don't lose your iDisk storage space if you switch. You would still have a MobileMe account until June 30, but all conflicting services like email, calendar, etc. would switch to iCloud. So you would only use your MobileMe account for things like iDisk, iWeb and Photo Galleries.

I made the switch when I got my iPhone 4S. The only unpleasant surprise was that I discovered a few days later that I'd somehow been subscribed to the $40/year iCloud plan, which I didn't remember agreeing to. Must've slipped it past me in the new iPhone setup screen or something.

I was relieved that my email continued to work on Snow Leopard even though iCloud requires Lion.
