sometimes when i send out emails, one of my friends complains that they are to small to read. I have checked with other friends and they do not have that problem , the one that has raised the issue and two others and i use the same IP provider. I have worked out that it is emails from my brother who receives them at work and sends them to his home to read so as not to waste time at work.

Are you sending out HTML email or plain text? My guess would be that you are sending out HTML (rich text). Some people then see it with fonts and styling, while others have their email set to always show plain text so they don't notice that you have set the font so small.
So your options are to simply increase your font size when composing email, or switch to plain text email (Mail, Preferences, Composing).
