I want to have video running on one side with titles on black background. I understand how to use side-by-side with video but it doesn’t seem to allow that with video + titles. The only way i can see to do it is to either create the title in iMovie, export it as a .mov and then reimport it as video. Or create the title in photoshop and import as an image. Any other easier way to do this? Thanks!

There is a new side-by-side feature in iMovie 11, so you may want to upgrade. Im not sure if it helps in this situation.
Have you tried putting the title first, with a plain black background, and then adding the video as a picture-in-picture on top of that?
Thanks. I actually have iMovie 11 but i'm afraid to load it because i haven't been able to test my camera with it, which is a Sony HDR-HC3 Handycam. I think i tried both ways (putting title first vs. second) but i'll try again. Thanks.
