No, not that I can think of. You can use AirPlay to send music, pictures and video to an AirPlay devices, like an Apple TV. But you can't do that between iOS devices. I'm not sure of the use of that. If you have the other iOS device nearby (on the same network) then why not just use the device that has the content on it?

Well in this case, I am thinking about streaming videos and photos from an iphone to an ipad for the larger screen. I'll hunt around.

Why not just load those videos or photos on to the iPad instead of the iPhone, then?

Good point. I use my iPod Touch to store my content but love the large screen of the iPad. My iPod has a far bigger memory than my iPad, but sometimes I would love to stream a film onto the iPad or even connect the iPad to the TV and while streaming the content from my iPod Touch I can effectively use the iPod Touch as a remote. Aside from memory constraints, the other reasons for not using iTunes to load the content onto the iPad for this are that it's quicker and easier to stream them from iPod on the fly without having to plan ahead, using the iPod as a remote, and with the iPad taking over my daily computing tasks more and more these days, along with the iCloud being introduced, I shouldn't need to sync up to my computer for this, it's primitive. I could just use AirPlay to my iPad for this, but this has two flaws: 1. I would either have to take the time to start up my PC and wait, eliminating the ability to watch videos on the fly, or 2, I have to leave my PC switched on continuously for this, eliminating my sense of independence from the PC and also killing my electric bill. Not liking that idea much.
However, Mr. iPod Touch is always docked into Mr. Stereo, and Mr. Wifi router is always on hand to help, so why can't Mr. iPod send presents to Mr. iPad, when the technology is obviously there? I want presents.
