How can I sync calendars on my iPad iphone4, and iMac with out using mobile me or the iTunes sync I need this done automatically when info is entered on any one of these devices

Without MobileMe? You can use another service, like Google, perhaps. It might take some experimentation, but if you use a Google Calendar with iCal on your Mac, and then sync that with your iPhone and iPad. I'm just not sure that it will update in the calendar on the iOS devices before you sync again. Give it a try.
And why not MobileMe? Seems that if you really need this, then you have a very good solution in MobileMe.
